2. IPS-panels have much better dark shade pixel response times than VA-panels, this means that fast moving content with darker shades, will blur and make noticeable trailing behind fast-moving objects in dark. But with most colours and brighter pixels, VA-panels have usually decent pixel response times. Samsung's cheap VA-panels are a bit
I could not find a 27-32 inch VA monitor in the $300-$400 range, which looked better than a 32-40 inch Vizio TV ($300-$350). and that's just really annoying. and even near doubling the monitor price to ~$600-$700, VA panel monitors don't really come across as much better quality.
The Samsung has a larger 49 inch screen with a 32:9 aspect ratio compared to the 38 inch screen and 21:9 aspect ratio on the LG. The Samsung also has a VA panel with a better contrast, but the LG's IPS panel has better viewing angles. Even though the Samsung has a higher 240Hz refresh rate, motion handling is better on the LG.
Otherwise, this TV is available in different sizes, from a small 43-inch to a big 75-inch. Sadly, this TV, like the LG QNED80 2023, isn't good for use in dark rooms, which is typical of most non-OLED LG TVs, as they have a low contrast ratio, and blacks look gray. It doesn't get very bright in SDR either, but it at least has good reflection
Super IPS panels are the newest and latest thing. The idea is to get a faster response time and better color rendition while keeping everything at a low price. Currently, there are only a few options but in the months to come we’ll be hearing more about this type of panel. 2. Choose an appropriate size.
I had that thought. Then I got a high quality VA TV. That's what made me realize how terrible IPS panels are in comparison to VA panels. The peak brightness and black levels are so much better. Though computer monitors aren't as good as the high end TVs, it's still an improvement over IPS.
IPS TVs are honestly even worse than VA TVs because the glow is very severe on large panels and it is basically determinant to viewing angles as well. This doesn't show up in reviews but in real world use, it is pretty awful on a TV if you watch a movie that is somewhat dark. Never buy a IPS TV imo, even for monitor use they are no good.
